The National Star College is an outstanding (Ofsted graded) specialist college providing personalised learning and transition services for people with disabilities. We work with students with complex physical, learning, sensory, communication and acquired disabilities. We offer full and part time, day and residential places, focusing on transition and achieving individual goals. Our college is a vibrant, active environment – students have a wide range of abilities, come to us from varied social and ethnic backgrounds and participate in a wide range of community activities.
The Curriculum:
Individualised programs include skills, personal development, therapy health and well-being, independent living skills, work skills, functional skills (communication, literacy, numeracy and ICT) and social learning opportunities. All students gain from specialist information, advice and transition support. Learning areas include Creative and Performing Arts, Media, Administration and IT, Customer Services, Health and Community Programs, Sport, Leisure and Recreation.
Specialist Facilities:
We have outstanding multi-disciplinary support, assistive technologies and equipment plus excellent facilities. These include sensory, therapeutic, residential and supported work environments.
