Council for Disabled Children

The Council for Disabled Children provides a national forum for the discussion and development of a wide range of policy and practice issues relating to service provision and support for disabled children and young people and those with special educational needs.

We talk to parents of disabled children, and disabled children themselves, as well as voluntary and statutory agencies, in order to collate and share examples of good practice in children's services.

Our membership is drawn from a wide range of professional, voluntary and statutory organisations, inlcuding parent representatives and representatives of disabled people in order to have a good balance of interests and expertise.

Our membership and extensive network of contacts gives us a unique overview of current issues.  It helps us promote collaborative and partnership working among organisations, and develop quality support for disabled children and their families.
