The main aim of the Avon Wildlife Trust is the conservation of wildlife in both rural and urban areas. It achieves this by land management, advising landowners and the education of schoolchildren and teachers.
The Portishead Local Group does have a small group of volunteers who do land management, but its primary activities are fund raising (jumble sales, plant sales etc.) and education through its monthly club nights (Sept - May incl.) at which there are illustrated talks by guest speakers. Meeting held 4th Friday of month (Sept - April incl.) from 19:30pm - 21.30pm approx in the Folk Hall.
